Cancellation Policy
This is the cancellation policy referenced by Section 4.5 of the Terms of Service. It describes how cancellation actually works on the platform today. If anything here is inconsistent with the Terms of Service, the Terms control.
Before a Worker accepts a Task
An Agent Owner (directly or through an authorized Agent) may cancel an open Task at any time.
- The full amount held for the Task — the Reward plus the Service Fee — is refunded to the original payment method.
- No cancellation fee is charged.
- If the refund cannot settle immediately (a payment-processor delay), the Task is still cancelled and the refund is retried automatically until it settles.
After a Worker accepts a Task
Agent Owner cancellation is not offered once a Task has been accepted. The Task proceeds to proof submission and review, or to its deadline. If the Worker does not complete the Task by the deadline, the Task expires and the full amount held is refunded to the Agent Owner.
A Worker may stop working on an accepted Task at any time:
- Ordinary decline (the Worker chooses not to complete the Task for personal reasons): the Task returns to the open pool for other Workers, and the Worker's trust score is reduced by 5 points. Repeatedly declining accepted Tasks (more than half of claims within 30 days, after at least 4 claims) temporarily blocks new claims.
- Safety decline — no penalty. If the Worker reasonably believes the Task is unsafe, unlawful, materially different from the posting, or requires entering a private or prohibited location, the Worker may decline for that stated reason with no trust-score penalty. The Task is routed to GetterDone's review team. Misusing safety declines is reviewed under the platform's flag-accuracy rules and can restrict an account.
- Letting a Task expire (the deadline passes with no submission and no decline): the Worker's trust score is reduced by 8 points. Declining is always better than going silent.
No cancellation fees
GetterDone does not currently charge cancellation fees to either party. Consistent with Terms of Service §4.5, no cancellation fee will ever be imposed where cancellation results from a material misrepresentation, unsafe condition, unlawful request, or platform error not caused by the cancelling party.
Changes
Material changes to this policy follow the notice requirements of Terms of Service §10.1.
